Why We Built Studio Sensei

The studio management software market serves gyms and fitness franchises well. It doesn't serve independent studios nearly as well — and the difference shows up in complexity, pricing, and the amount of setup work required before you can do anything useful.

We talked to dozens of studio owners before writing a line of code. The problems they described were remarkably consistent: juggling multiple apps that don't share data, manually enforcing policies they'd defined but couldn't systematically apply, spending hours on administrative work that software should handle.

The AI angle wasn't a starting assumption — it emerged from a specific observation. Studio owners weren't missing information. They had more data than they could act on. What they needed was a system that surfaced the right information at the right moment and made it easy to act on it — without taking the decision out of their hands.
